Nedbank Migrating Customers to Pin & Chip Visa Debit Cards

Blantyre – 8 March 2018 – Nedbank Malawi is currently migrating from Magstripe Visa Debit card to a more secure and technically advanced Pin & Chip Visa Debit Card. In this respect the bank is calling on all its existing customers to go and swap their old cards with this new card for free by 31st May 2018.

“With the new Pin & Chip Visa Debit Card, our customers are guaranteed of enhanced security when they transact on all ATMs and POS devices across the country. We believe that this new card will give our customers complete peace of mind as it has the best in market security features” Tidzi Chalamba , Nedbank’s Marketing & Business Development Manager said

Chalamba further said that the migration follows months of meticulous planning and extensive work behind the scenes to ensure a seamless transition to the new, secure and technologically-advanced Pin & Chip Visa Debit Card.

“We would like to assure our customers that this will be a seamless transition. Nedbank is currently the only bank in the market with the ability to issue “same day” ATM cards on site and within minutes – even as customers wait. Therefore the new Chip Cards will be issued within minutes when customers visit any Nedbank Branch to swap the old card for the new one for free. We also believe that we have given our customers ample time to migrate to this new card without panic”. Chalamba Said

The bank further advised that the old magstripe visa debit cards will not be functional after the due date of 31st May, 2018
